Johnson Creek Scores Road Win Against Dodgeland (Football)

 by Maverick Weissmann, Senior Writer On Friday, September 26th, the Johnson Creek Bluejays defeated the Dodgeland Trojans on the road at Dodgeland High School, 48-0. In the first quarter, at 6:38, Johnson Creek running back Owen Blakey (#24) ran in for a 5-yard touchdown. Hayden Wagner’s (#21) extra point was successful, giving the Bluejays the lead, 7-0. Later in the first quarter at 1:34, Johnson Creek running back Luke Hartz (#9) ran for a 62-yard touchdown. The extra point attempt by Hayden Wagner was good, putting the Bluejays up 14-0. At the start of the second quarter at 11:21, Jackson Raabe (#7) ran for a 58-yard running touchdown. Bluejays set five personal records at Horicon River Run (Cross Country)

 Written by Nico Ritter, Senior Writer On Thursday, September 25th, the Johnson Creek Cross-Country team competed at the Horicon River Run. The Bluejays ended the meet with 5 personal records. The men's team placed 8th, with Frankie Gutierrez running for a time of 18:08.20 and finishing in 9th.  Evan Chowanec ran for a time of 18:59.80 and finished 37th, while Collin Hucke ran for a time of 20:27.50 and finished 72nd.  The men’s team also finished with three personal records. Maxwel Chowanec finished 57th with a time of 19:52:30.  Meanwhile, Duncan Thomas finished 74th with a time of 20:30:70, and Ryder Kerttula finished 121st with a time of 28:56:30. For the Johnson Creek girls' team, there were two PR’s.  Sophia Le finished 84th with a time of 27:07:30, and Maddie Esteves finished 88th with a time of 29:14.40.  Overall, the girls' team placed 9th.  Lauren Nadboralski finished 12th overall with a time of 21:33.00, while Lia Constable finished 15th ove...

Johnson Creek Sweeps Williams Bay in Three Sets (Volleyball)

 by Sophia Lawrence, Junior Writer On Thursday, September 25th, the Johnson Creek Bluejays Varsity volleyball team defeated Williams Bay at Johnson Creek High School, three sets to none. The Bluejays started out strong in the first set, dominating Williams Bay and winning the first set, 25-9. Johnson Creek carried that momentum to the second set, taking control once again and securing the 25-11 win. They then closed out the match in the third set with a 25-10 victory.  Over the three sets, Attigun Benz led the team with 10 kills, Cece Micale had 5 blocks, and Cari Armstrong served 6 aces to secure the win. This victory also marks the third year in a row that Johnson Creek has defeated Williams Bay, continuing their rivalry. On Tuesday, September 30th, the Johnson Creek Bluejays (9-7 overall, 4-1 in conference) will travel to Abundant Life/Saint Ambrose (21-5 overall, 4-0 in conference) for a conference matchup.

Johnson Creek Bounces Back, Defeats Palmyra-Eagle on the Road (Football)

 by Maverick Weissmann, Senior Writer On Friday, September 19, 2025, the Johnson Creek Bluejays defeated the Palmyra-Eagle Panthers on the road at Palmyra-Eagle High School, 42-0. The Bluejays got off to a great start in this game and never looked back.  At the 9:17 mark of the first quarter, quarterback AJ Whitehouse (6), who was starting for the injured Aiden Smith (1), completed a pass to Hayden Wagner (21) for a 5-yard touchdown. Wagner’s extra point was successful, giving the Bluejays the lead, 7-0.   Later on in the first quarter, with 2:16 remaining, Whitehouse completed a 5-yard touchdown pass to Evan Malueg (11). The extra point attempt by Hayden Wagner was good, putting the Bluejays up 14-0. Nadboralski's First Place Finish Leads the Way for Bluejays at home invitational (Cross Country)

 by Sophie Morris, Sophomore Writer On Thursday, September 18th, the Johnson Creek Bluejays cross-country team competed at home in the Johnson Creek Invitational, with Lauren Nadboralski leading the way for the team, scoring first in the women's individual finish with a time of 22:00.52.  Moreover, Kiara Dach finished 4th, closely behind Lauren, with an exceptional time of 24:51.17. Sophia Le finished in 14th with a time of 30:12.49, and Madeleine Lira Esteves finished 16th with a time of 31:37.72. For the Johnson Creek men’s team, they powered through and finished 4th with a team score of 62. Johnson Creek Powers Past Parkview in Tight Win (Volleyball)

 by Marlie Benz, Junior Writer ORFORDVILLE, Wis. - On Tuesday, September 16th, the Johnson Creek Bluejays varsity volleyball team defeated the Parkview Vikings at Parkview High School in 5 sets, 3-2.  Johnson Creek won the first set 29-27. Parkview retaliated with a 25-23 win in the second set. This was enough for the Bluejays to get their heads on straight. The Bluejays won the third set, 25-20.   Parkview took the cake in the fourth set, with a 27-25 win over the Bluejays. The Bluejays didn’t let this get to them, powering back and taking the win in the fifth set, 15-7.  Throughout the sets, Johnson Creek wasn’t doing too well at the service line, with an overall total of 14 service errors. In contrast, Olivia Frey had 4 aces during the matchup, and Caroline Armstrong, Rozilyn Cheaney, and Kira Boehm followed closely behind her with 2 aces on the Vikings.  Freshman Attie Benz had a personal record of 30 kills in the matchup, with Cecelia Micale not far be...

Johnson Creek Falls to Lourdes Academy (Football)

 by Maverick Weissmann, Senior Writer On Friday, September 12th, the Johnson Creek Bluejays lost to Lourdes Academy, 36-12, at Johnson Creek High School. There wasn’t much scoring in the first half.  The only score of the first half came in the first quarter at the 7:35 mark when Lourdes quarterback Brady Bauer (#0) completed a pass to Michael Santiago (#3) for a 40-yard touchdown.  After the successful extra point attempt by Matt Yaggie (#23), Lourdes went up 7-0, which was also the score at halftime after a scoreless second quarter. In the third quarter, Lourdes Academy struck quickly on its first possession when Bauer completed a 55-yard touchdown pass to Santiago for their second scoring connection of the game. Yaggie would add the extra point, making the score 14-0 Lourdes.   After Johnson Creek failed to score, Lourdes struck again at the 8:42 mark in the third quarter when Brady Bauer ran in a 10-yard touchdown.
