Bluejays Defeat Madison Country Day, Remain Unbeaten in Conference Play (Volleyball)

On Tuesday September 9th at Madison Country Day School, the Johnson Creek Bluejays varsity volleyball team beat Madison Country Day in a long 5 set game.

Fresh off a 2-1 quad over the weekend, the Bluejays returned to conference play against Madison Country Day. The Bluejays came out dominating the first set, winning 25-15. The Bluejays stayed hot and were victorious in the second set, 25-15.


The third set did not turn out the way they wanted, with Madison Country Day defeating them, 15-25. Madison Country Day kept the streak going and pulled through with another victory in the fourth set,14-25. Despite losing two straight sets, the Bluejays fought back in the fifth set, and came away with a victory, 15-11, making their record 2-0 in conference play. 


Over the five sets, freshman Attigun Benz had 18 kills. Furthermore, sophomore setter Olivia Frey had 30 assists, junior Cece Micale recorded five blocks, and sophomore libero Cari Armstrong served seven aces.


The Johnson Creek Bluejays volleyball team returns to action at the Berres Fieldhouse in Johnson Creek tonight, Thursday, September 11th, at 7pm against the Deerfield Demons.
