Deerfield Bests Johnson Creek in 5 Sets (Volleyball)

On Thursday, September 11th, at Johnson Creek in the Berres Fieldhouse, the Johnson Creek Blue Jays varsity volleyball team lost to Deerfield in five sets, 2-3.
The Bluejays, who were 2-0 in conference play to start the day, started well with a win in the first set, 25-21. The second set didn't go as well as the first for the Bluejays. They lost the second set, 25-22.
The third set was different. The Bluejays picked it back up and won the set, 25-18. The Blue Jays and Demonds were going back and forth. In a close fourth set, the Demons ended up with the victory, 25-18.
The Blue Jays and Demons were all tied up going into the fifth set. It was a really intense game. Deerfield was hot off the last set, and they ended up taking the victory, 15-11.
Over the five sets, the freshman Attigun Benz had 29 kills for Johnson Creek. Furthermore, sophomore Olivia Frey put up 47 assists, junior Cece Micale had 2 blocks, and sophomore Cari Armstrong served 5 aces.
Johnson Creek (2-1 in conference) travels to Parkview today, Tuesday, September 16, for a 7:15 P.M. matchup.
