Gutierrez Sets School Record, Bluejays Show Out at Camrock (Cross Country)

It was a record-setting day on Thursday, September 4th, as the Bluejays Cross Country team competed in the Cam Rock Invitational in Cambridge, WI.

Senior Francisco Gutierrez set a school record in the men's 5,000-meter race, finishing with a time of 17:45.17 (16th Place Overall). Meanwhile, it was a day full of accomplishments for many Bluejays who hit personal records.

Junior Duncan Thomas set a personal record, finishing the 5,000-meter race in 29:34:86 (98th Overall). Furthermore, Senior Evan Chowanec finished with a time of 18:45:29 (36th Overall), Junior Collin Hucke finished with a time of 19:42:30 (67th Overall), and Sophomore Maxwell Chowanec finished with a time of 20:33:73 (89th Overall).

As a team, the men finished 13th Overall with a score of 306. The women were also extremely successful.

In the 5,000-meter race, Junior Lauren Nadboralski finished with a personal record time of 20:28:99. Furthermore, Sophomore Lia Constable finished with a PR time of 20:45:10, and Sophomore Kiara Dach finished with a PR time of 21:38:91. 


In the JV 5,000-meter Women’s Individual, Sophia Le Finished with a PR time of 28:42:41, and Maddie Esteves finished with a PR time of 29:46:32.


The Bluejays will travel to Shepherds Meadow Golf Course for the Poynette Invitational next on Thursday, September 11th, at 4:30pm.
