Johnson Creek Bounces Back, Defeats Palmyra-Eagle on the Road (Football)

On Friday, September 19, 2025, the Johnson Creek Bluejays defeated the Palmyra-Eagle Panthers on the road at Palmyra-Eagle High School, 42-0.
The Bluejays got off to a great start in this game and never looked back. At the 9:17 mark of the first quarter, quarterback AJ Whitehouse (6), who was starting for the injured Aiden Smith (1), completed a pass to Hayden Wagner (21) for a 5-yard touchdown. Wagner’s extra point was successful, giving the Bluejays the lead, 7-0.
Later on in the first quarter, with 2:16 remaining, Whitehouse completed a 5-yard touchdown pass to Evan Malueg (11). The extra point attempt by Hayden Wagner was good, putting the Bluejays up 14-0.
In the second quarter, with 10:23 remaining, Jackson Raabe (7) fumbled the ball at the Palmyra-Eagle 3-yard line, which was recovered by the Bluejays in the endzone for a touchdown. The extra point by Wagner was no good, making it 20-0 Johnson Creek.
Later in the second quarter, Jackson Raabe would run in a 4-yard touchdown with 4:44 left before halftime, making it 26-0. The extra point by Wagner made it 27-0 Bluejays. But the Bluejays weren’t done yet.
With 1:53 left in the second quarter, the Bluejays struck again with a pass from Whitehouse to Malueg for a 21-yard touchdown. This marks the second time this year that the Johnson Creek Bluejays have attempted a 2-point conversion. The Bluejays went for a 2-point conversion, which was converted by Jackson Raabe. At halftime, the Johnson Creek 35, Palmyra-Eagle 0.
In the third quarter, neither team was able to score. It remained 35-0 Bluejays heading into the fourth quarter.
The fourth quarter was a stalemate until the 1:20 mark when Owen Pernat (18) ran in a 4-yard touchdown for Johnson Creek. The extra point from Wagner was good, making it 42-0. The Bluejays would go on to win by that score.
Overall, quarterback AJ Whitehouse completed six of eight attempts for 63 yards and three touchdowns. Luke Hartz (9) carried the ball eight times for 92 yards, and Jackson Raabe carried it 12 times for 78 yards and two touchdowns.
Defensively, Luke Hartz had an interception. The Bluejays also had three sacks, one from Evan Malueg (11), one from Logan Zerbe (70), and one from Jalen Carlson (72). Malueg also led the way in tackles with four. He also had a tackle for a loss. Jackson Raabe and Maverick Weissmann (71) also had a tackle for a loss.
On Friday, September 26th, the Johnson Creek Bluejays (4-1 overall, 2-1 in conference) are headed on the road to Dodgeland High School to face Dodgeland (0-4 overall, 0-2 in conference) at 7 P.M..
