Johnson Creek Powers Past Parkview in Tight Win (Volleyball)

ORFORDVILLE, Wis. - On Tuesday, September 16th, the Johnson Creek Bluejays varsity volleyball team defeated the Parkview Vikings at Parkview High School in 5 sets, 3-2. 

Johnson Creek won the first set 29-27. Parkview retaliated with a 25-23 win in the second set. This was enough for the Bluejays to get their heads on straight. The Bluejays won the third set, 25-20.  

Parkview took the cake in the fourth set, with a 27-25 win over the Bluejays. The Bluejays didn’t let this get to them, powering back and taking the win in the fifth set, 15-7. 

Throughout the sets, Johnson Creek wasn’t doing too well at the service line, with an overall total of 14 service errors. In contrast, Olivia Frey had 4 aces during the matchup, and Caroline Armstrong, Rozilyn Cheaney, and Kira Boehm followed closely behind her with 2 aces on the Vikings. 

Freshman Attie Benz had a personal record of 30 kills in the matchup, with Cecelia Micale not far behind with 12. 

The Johnson Creek Bluejays (3-1 in conference) take on Williams Bay this Thursday, September 25th, at home.
