Bluejays Finish Strong in Trailways Conference Championship (Cross Country)

On October 16th, the Johnson Creek Bluejays cross-country team competed in the Trailways Conference Championship at Winagamie Golf Course in Neenah, Wisconsin. The men’s team came in 4th, with a score of 91, while the women’s team came in 3rd with a score of 70.

Lauren Nadboralski, Lia Constable, and Frankie Gutierrez all amazingly got First Team All-Conference, and Evan Chowanec got Second Team All-Conference. 

For the women’s individual finishes, Lauren Nadboralski pushed through, placing 5th, and beating her last time from the Nightfall Classic meet of 21:09.70 to finishing with a time of 20:58.90. Lia Constable closely followed behind Lauren, placing 5th with a time of 21:09.90. Kiara Dach placed 17th with a time of 23:06.80. Sophia Le placed 30th with a time of 26:31.70, and following close behind was Maddie Esteves, placing 31st with a time of 27:30.60.

Next, for the men’s individual finish, Frankie Gutierrez greatly led the men’s team, placing 7th with a time of 17:57.90, beating his last time of 18:32.80 from the Nightfall Classic. Evan Chowanec placed 14th with a time of 18:59.80. Max Chowanec placed 20th with a personal record time of 19:27.60. Colin Hucke placed 25th with a time of 19:55.50. Duncan Thomas placed 31st with a time of 20:31.50, and Ryder Kerttula placed 43rd with a PR time of 25:10.50. 

Next, the Johnson Creek Bluejays cross-country team will head to Baertschi Farms and compete in the WIAA D3 Sectionals on Saturday, October 25th, in Albany, Wisconsin, at 11 a.m.
