Johnson Creek Handles Parkview/Albany on Homecoming Night (Football)

On October 10th, 2025, the Johnson Creek Bluejays football team defeated Parkview/Albany Vikings, 36-16, on Homecoming night at Johnson Creek High School.
In the first quarter, with 6:32 left on the clock, Owen Pernat (18) ran in a 5-yard touchdown, making the score 6-0 Bluejays. Luke Hartz (9) completed a pass to Jackson Raabe (7) for the two-point conversion, putting the Bluejays up, 8-0.
The Bluejays were just getting started. With 3:07 left in the first quarter, Hartz threw a 54-yard touchdown pass to Aiden Smith (1), making the score 14-0. Hartz would then complete a pass to Evan Malueg (11) for the 2-point conversion, making the score 16-0.
In the second quarter, with 8:29 left on the clock and a 16-0 lead, Pernat scored again for the Bluejays, running in a 3-yard touchdown. This put the Bluejays up, 22-0. The two-point conversion was no good.
The Vikings weren’t going away easily. With 12 seconds left before halftime, Parkview’s Elijah Gunn (19) completed a pass to Jaydon Tobias (21) for a 31-yard touchdown. The two-point conversion was successful, making the score 22-8 at halftime.
In the third quarter, with 5:17 left, Pernat ran in another touchdown for the Bluejays from four yards out. He would also score the two-point conversion, making it 30-8 Bluejays. That would lock up the scoring until 10:03 left in the fourth quarter. At that point, Bluejays backup quarterback Sylas Weisnicht ran in a 15-yard touchdown, making the score 36-8. The two-point conversion was good.
With only 1:54 left in the fourth quarter, Parkview quarterback Elijah Gunn ran in a 6-yard touchdown. The two-point conversion was good, making the score 36-16. The Bluejays would go on to win by that same score.
For the Bluejays, Owen Pernat finished with 117 yards and three touchdowns on 13 attempts. Receiver Aiden Smith finished with one catch for 54 yards and a touchdown.
With a Homecoming win under their belt, the Johnson Creek Bluejays (7-1 overall, 5-1 in conference) will head on the road to face Randolph tonight in their final regular-season matchup at 7 P.M..
