Bluejays Fall to Deerfield in the WIAA Playoffs (Volleyball)

On Thursday, October 23rd, the Johnson Creek Bluejays varsity volleyball team was defeated by Deerfield in the semifinals of the WIAA regional playoffs, four sets to one, ending their season.

The matchup was competitive at the start, with Deerfield taking the first set 25-21. The Bluejays respond by taking the second set, 22-25. The third and fourth sets were both pulled away from the Bluejays, 25-18 and 25-21.

Over the four sets, freshman Attigun Benz had 15 kills for the Bluejays, leading the team offensively. Sophomore Olivia Frey had 33 assists along with three aces. Junior CeCe Miracle had a total of 5 blocks.

Even with the season coming to an end, the Bluejays fought hard throughout the match.

Johnson Creek ends the year with promising underclassmen returning to come back stronger next year.
