Bluejays fall to L-Cats at home (Girls Basketball)

On Thursday, December 4th, 2025, the Johnson Creek Bluejays girls basketball team suffered a devastating non-conference home loss to the Lake Mills L-Cats, 60-21.

The Bluejays struggled to get out of the gates in the first half and trailed at halftime, 34-6.  In the second half, Lake Mills continued to make it difficult for Johnson Creek, pulling away for a 60-21 victory.

For the Bluejays, junior Lydia Wetzel (34) finished with 9 points.  Additionally, sophomore Paige Swanson (32) and senior Alyssa Hucke (3) added 4 points each.

Moreover, for the L-Cats, junior Milan Fullerton (10) led the way with 16 points.  Furthermore, sophomore Sydney Grundahl (15) added 11 points, while sophomore Hannah Kulow (1) and senior Ava Plitzuweit (12) had 10 points each.

Despite the loss, senior Alyssa Hucke felt encouraged by the teams performance in the game.

"I thought we showed a lot of heart," said Hucke.

The Johnson Creek Bluejays (0-3 overall, 0-2 in conference) will travel to Parkview to face the Parkview Vikings on Tuesday, December 9th, 2025, in a conference battle.
