Bluejays secure first conference win against Madison Country Day (Boys Basketball)

On Tuesday, December 2nd, 2025, the Johnson Creek Bluejays boys basketball team won their first Trailways South conference game of the season against the Madison Country Day Prairie Hawks, 85-60.


The Bluejays had to battle back early on, but once they got going, they kept their foot on the gas. By halftime, the Bluejays were doing great, leading by a score of 51-31. In the second half of the game, the Blue Jays kept going strong, which resulted in a victory against Madison Country Day, 85-60.


For the Johnson Creek Bluejays, Brady Fincutter (0) had 25 points. He shot 10-for-25 from the field. He also shot 4-for-8 from three. Evan Malueg (24) had 17 points for the night. He was 7-for-9 from the field and 3-for-4 on free throws. Kace Freimund (13) had 12 points throughout the night. He went 4-for-8 from the field and went 4-for-4 from the free throw line. Kenny Siewert (30) had 11 rebounds, including 2 offensive rebounds.


The Blue Jays (2-0, 1-0 in conference) will face Catholic Central on Friday, December 5th, at Catholic Central in Burlington at 7:15 pm.
